originally you would have had a few options:

Type 1 engines: 1300 , 44 bhp
1600 , 46 bhp
1600 , 50 bhp
Type 4 engines: 1700 , 66 bhp

do you have some pics of a original type 4 plugged into a bay 72?
i would like to check in details to compare with my type 4 from a 412...
dont know what should be a real air outlet network and so...
and this hybrid stuff drives me crazy right now..difficult as hell to buy the good spare parts... thats why i am wondering if i should switch for a regular boosted 1700 something or 2000 cc even...

your feelings?

don`t know too much about it really. have no pics for you, sorry...

I have read a lot of volksworld and Ultravw mags and they are always featuring type 1 engines. Don`t know why but maybe they are more reliable?

putting in a boosted type 1 seems to be very popular... but it will cost you...

I don't think the 1700 type 4 from a 411/412 should differ much from the Bus version. They share the same carb setup, same cooling system, even the same exhaust AFAIK...

A great hose diagram for the dual carbs here:

Visit Richard Atwells main web-site (if you haven't already) for a lot of info on Bay Buses. If you can't find it there, it probably isn't worth knowing...
